Challenge
Traffic arrived, but fewer than five in every thousand visitors bought.
What we did
Found where buyers were leaving, then fixed the homepage, product pages, menu and checkout.
Result
Gross sales up 573% six months after launch, with no increase in ad spend.
In brief
The Garden Centre, a garden retailer in Qatar, had a Shopify store with steady traffic that converted at 0.42%. ABECODS found that most revenue was lost before checkout, on the homepage, product pages and menu, and fixed those first. Six months after launch, gross sales were up 573% and the conversion rate had reached 0.78%, with no increase in ad spend.
BeforeAfter
Traffic that did not turn into orders.
The Garden Centre came to us with an online store that was working and receiving visitors, but converting at 0.42%. Fewer than five in every thousand visitors completed a purchase.
The usual reaction is to buy more traffic or add more tools. Neither fixes a problem nobody has located, so we started by finding where buyers were actually leaving.
Main finding
- Most revenue was lost before checkout began, not at checkout.
- The homepage did not say what the online store sells or why to trust it.
- The menu hid categories and added clicks before a buyer reached a product.
Also in the way
- Product pages were missing what a buyer needs to feel sure.
- Reviews, social proof and the returns policy were hard to find at the point of decision.
- Friction and missing reassurance late in checkout.
Every fix traced back to a finding.
Grouped by stage of the journey.
- Convert
Redesigned and restructured the homepage
It now says what the online store sells and why it can be trusted within the first seconds of arrival.
- Convert
Rewrote the product pages
Structure, content, imagery and trust signals reorganised around what a buyer needs to decide.
- Convert
Rebuilt the menu
Navigation redesigned so categories are visible and products take fewer clicks to reach.
- Convert
Cleared the checkout
Friction removed and reassurance added along the path to payment.
- Build
Fixed the measurement
Tracking was set up as part of the work, so every result here comes from the online store's own records.
- AI
Added AIVA product photos
Consistent product photos across the catalogue, with the same backdrop and lighting. Images come from `D:\past clients\past clients\The Garden centre\assets\product images` (233 files; a contact sheet for picking comes at the build step, and every image goes through the Creative Director gate first).

Traffic
Six months after launch, compared with the pre-optimisation baseline. Ad spend was not increased.
What we did not do
We did not raise ad spend. The gain came from fixing the points where buyers were leaving.
ABECODS restructured how we understand our store, not just how it looks. We moved from guessing to having clarity, and the results reflect that.
